Alan Fitzpatrick Essentials

From the moment that Alan Fitzpatrick appeared on the scene in the late '00s, there was no doubt he represented the next generation of techno royalty. The Southampton native arrived bearing a deeply intuitive mix of supple groove, dubby nuance and big-room oomph that quickly landed him spots on John Digweed's Bedrock and Adam Beyer's Drumcode labels. His debut album, Shadows in the Dark, was masterfully menacing, but he's no stranger to sweeping melodic grandeur. In the mid '10s, his remixes for Trus'me and Róisín Murphy marked a turn towards deeper, more enveloping sounds.
