About Taxi

Gibraltar's Melon Diesel disbanded in 2003, and the bandmembers formed two groups, the English-language alternative rock band Area 52 and Spanish-language (like Melon Diesel) pop/rockers Taxi, consisting of vocalist Dylan Ferro and guitarists Dani Fa and Danny Bugeja. The group's buoyant debut album, Libre, was released in 2005, and included brothers Matt and Gregg Bissonette on bass and drums, respectively. The somewhat mellower Mil Historias followed in 2006, and Mirando Atrás, featuring newly recorded versions of both Taxi and Melon Diesel songs, appeared in 2008. Mirando Atrás introduced bassist Marcelo Fuentes and drummer Vicente Climent (although not considered members like the founding trio), and the lineup remained unchanged on Taxi's fourth album, Aquí y Ahora, which was nominated for a 2010 Latin Grammy. ~ Mariano Prunes
