In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My father, René Marthaler, who used to play at the Montreux Jazz Festival, gave me my musical education. It was the precious opportunity that life offered me before he prematurely died. This is why I never hesitate to give away everything I learn. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Genesis, A Trick of the Tail 2007 Remaster Stephan Micus, East of the Night Yes, Going for the One Each note and each harmony is perfect to me and in their place with an incomparable creativity. My main influence is the British progressive rock. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing with my father who taught me the passion and love of music. I also had the great chance to play a concert with the drummer Jack DeJohnette. It was a revelation and an incredible creative experience. This musician is totally extraordinary. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to continue to live my passion, meaning recording and releasing new albums with different styles, as well as performing them on stage.
