About Craig Ferguson
First introduced to American audiences as Drew Carey's evil boss on The Drew Carey Show, Scottish-American comedian Craig Ferguson is best known in the States for his talk show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Born in Glasgow, Ferguson started out as a musician, playing in the local punk bands Bastards from Hell and the Dreamboys, both of which featured future Dr. Who star Peter Capaldi. Capaldi also influenced Ferguson to try his hand at standup comedy and even coined the name of one of the aspiring comedian's earliest characters, the folk singer Bing Hitler. Bing was a hit at the 1986 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Ferguson soon landed roles on television shows (including Red Dwarf) and on-stage (playing Brad Majors in the 1991 London revival of The Rocky Horror Picture Show). He moved to Los Angeles in 1994 and joined the cast of The Drew Carey Show from 1996 to 2003, and in 2005 he replaced Craig Kilborn on the CBS network's The Late Late Show. In 2009 he debuted his first American comedy special, A Wee Bit o' Revolution, on Comedy Central, with Does This Need to Be Said? following on the cable network in 2011. In 2013 his comedy special I'm Here to Help premiered via Netflix, while the album version arrived on the New Wave Dynamics record label. ~ David Jeffries
