

Warren G paid his dues with 213 alongside Snoop and Nate Dogg in the early '90s before venturing out as a soloist. After signing to the legendary Def Jam label, he found himself cast as poster boy of the G-funk movement off the back of his '94 debut LP. That project zoomed to platinum status as the rapper/producer's laidback flow and tales of west coast life were paired with synth-laden and melodic beats. The Long Beach native then returned to his roots in '04 for a successful 213 reunion, adding to his tally of hit albums.
