Van Halen: Deep Cuts

Eddie's shredding remains the constant throughout Van Halen's three-singer career. The early rocker “Atomic Punk” explodes with distorted squall, capturing some of the guitarist's most far-out effects, while “Amsterdam,” a mid-'90s jam inspired by grunge's chunky rawness, boasts some of his densest riffs. His acrobatic blues picking dances around the fretboard on the boogie romp “Stay Frosty.”
