Trevor Pinnock Essentials

Trevor Pinnock Essentials

Pinnock was steeped in classical music in his childhood, learning to play the piano and joining a local choir before moving on to a range of other instruments. He toured as a harpsichordist before founding The English Concert in 1972, performing baroque pieces on period instruments and in turn becoming one of the most accomplished English conductors of the 20th century. Here are some of the works that earned him his reputation, including The English Concert’s stunning renditions of baroque concertos and his own conducting of majestic, poignant classics.
