The Doors: Influences

The Doors: Influences

The dark and driving sound of The Doors was unique, but it was also steeped in tradition. The band had clearly studied bluesmen like John Lee Hooker and Howlin' Wolf, and they were also tuned in to a tradition of raw rockers like The Seeds and The Rolling Stones. And frontman Jim Morrison brought his own set of inspirations, including Kurt Weill, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley.
