The Charlie Daniels Band Essentials

Irrepressible singer/fiddler Charlie Daniels once did '60s session work backing Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. Then he made his own homey-sounding albums, blending country, bluegrass, rock, and gospel. His first proper “band” release was 1974's platinum-selling Fire on the Mountain, a soaring, song-driven set filled with the pro-Southern themes for which the band would become known. Their biggest hit, 1979's hard-charging Million Mile Reflections, included their signature tune “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” In 2014 they surprised fans with a spirited collection of Dylan tunes.
