T-Mo and B.I.C. are among the founding members of 83, a coterie of franco-rap MCs that's essentially Quebec City's answer to the Wu-Tang Clan. As Taktika, the pair have forged a sound that's both grittily intense and sing-along accessible. In doing so, they've transcended genres (incorporating everything from jazzy boom bap to grungy alt-rock to beach-resort reggae) and generations alike. Taktika's 2011 effort, À bout portant, featured guest spots from KRS-One and Buckshot—a coronation from two New York legends that confirmed Quebec City's status as a hip-hop hotbed.
