T.I.: Next Steps
Apple Music
Before the self-proclaimed King of the South took over the country in the mid-'00s, T.I. set Atlanta clubs on fire with 2001's “What's Yo Name.” With producer DJ Toomp, he helped lay the foundation for trap music with slow, bass-heavy grooves on underground songs like “Heavy Chevys” and “Bezzle.” Tip became so prolific that even collaborations with JAY Z and André 3000 flew under the radar.
