The worming, psychedelic epics of 21st-century space cadet Sun Araw, a.k.a. Los Angeles' Cameron Stallones, move at their own hypnotizing pace, wiggling out of easy classification. He mixes new-age calm with unsettling drones on tracks like “Thoughts Are Bells” before easily switching to wobbly, lo-fi Afro-funk on extended jams like “All Night Long.” His collaborations have produced mind-boggling results, as the swampy dub of “Jungle” (with reggae legends The Congos) can attest. But it's his solo ventures, like the echoing wah-wah freak-out of “Deep Temple,” that reveal Stallones' inner psych traveller.
