Sightings Essentials

New York noise rock trio Sightings debuted in the early '00s, combining the harsher-than-harsh feedback of earlier noise pioneers like Merzbow with the attack of hardcore punk. Sightings' music grew more accessible as the years went on as their 2007 album Through the Panama featured production work by Andrew W.K. and a cover of art-rock icon Scott Walker's "The Electrician." But even when writing songs, the band continued to push both rock and noise to their most abrasive and abstract extremes.
