Sharon, Lois & Bram Essentials

Sharon, Lois & Bram—no last names required—helped usher children’s music into the mainstream. The trio debuted with 1978’s One Elephant, Deux Elephants, an LP that included their signature hit, the gentle, harmony-heavy folk song “Skinnamarink,” and covers like an upbeat take on “She’ll Be Comin’ Round the Mountain.” Sharon, Lois & Bram’s international profile expanded considerably in the ’80s when they starred on the television series The Elephant Show, which aired in the U.S. on Nickelodeon. Along with the show (and multiple subsequent specials) came dozens of records, all of which centre classic nursery rhymes and amiable sing-alongs.
