Scissor Sisters Essentials

At the dawn of the '00s, Scissor Sisters blossomed out of the New York club scene, remaking ‘70s pop radio sounds for a new millennium. “Take Your Mama” and “Laura” updated Elton John's down-home piano-funk for a post-house club audience—with Jake Shears and Ana Matronic vamping it up, Marc Bolan-style, in their glam-rock clobber—while “Comfortably Numb” reimagined Pink Floyd as if they had been covered by disco-era Bee Gees. “I Don't Feel Like Dancin'” even took the decadent sleaze of The Rolling Stones and made it shimmer.
