Sam & Dave: The Stax Era

Sam Moore and Dave Prater were a struggling R&B duo until signing with Atlantic Records in '65. The label linked them with writer/producers Isaac Hayes and David Porter at Stax Records where, backed by Booker T. & the M.G.'s, the duo waxed their most indelible hits. These singles, bursting with gospel-flavoured energy and grit, are some of the most iconic soul songs of the 20th century.
