Roni Size/Reprazent Essentials

Based in Bristol, Roni Size and his Reprazent crew helped bring the high-tempo sound of drum 'n' bass into the mainstream with their Mercury Prize-winning debut, 1997's New Forms. Taking a melodic approach to recording, the album fused jazz and hip-hop influences with furious beats, while the group's in-house singer, Onallee, added soulful vocals to tracks like "Heroes" and "Share The Fall." 2000's In the Møde further expanded the vibe, this time bringing in big name guests like Method Man and Zack de la Rocha to powerful effect.
