Roch Voisine Essentials

A New Brunswick native, Roch Voisine rose to bilingual stardom in the ‘90s thanks to his strong, emotional voice, savvy pop songwriting, and a dreamy visage. After the success of his 1989 album Hélène, a hit in French-speaking countries on both sides of the Atlantic, Voisine made a bold gambit for Canada-wide success with a double album (called, naturally, Double) featuring sides in both French and English. By the middle of the decade, he was racking up English hits, only to refocus on his francophone work throughout the ‘00s. His finest ballads are timeless, so it's not too late to catch up on his robust body of work.
