The sight of Chris Pratt shimmying to “Come and Get Your Love” in Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 did more than introduce Redbone to a new generation. It also sparked new interest in the first Indigenous American rock act to top the charts around the world. Founded in 1969 by Patrick and Lolly Vasquez-Vegas—brothers of Yaqui, Shoshone, and Mexican heritage—Redbone developed their own meaty blend of rock, funk, Latin, and Cajun music.
