Paul Wall Essentials

Paul Wall had the "Internet Going Nutz" during the Houston rap explosion of the early '00s, first in a duo with Chamillionaire, and then solo on his chart-topping 2005 Swishahouse debut, The Peoples Champ. His flashy grill and equally colourful word choices made him a standout on tracks by labelmate Mike Jones, as well as Nelly's “Grillz” and Kanye West's snail's-pace banger “Drive Slow.” Later, Wall became a close collaborator with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, whose percussive production drove “Showin' Skillz” and “Live It” on 2010's Heart of a Champion.
