Brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll started Orbital as a bedroom project that quickly blew up when their first self-recorded single shot to the top 20 on their native UK charts. While other tracks caught fire within the growing rave scene, the duo truly made their mark with albums that folded political commentary and expansive soundscapes into their electro and techno sensibilities. Orbital split for four years in the '00s but returned with a series of headlining concerts and a new album, 2012's Wonky, before announcing their final split in 2014.
