Nicolas Jaar: Influences

Nicolas Jaar, only 21 when he dropped his groundbreaking debut, Space Is Only Noise, first tuned in to modern house and techno producers like Luomo and Ricardo Villalobos when he was still in junior high. L.A. native Jaar grew up listening to avant-garde jazz, 20th century classical music, dub, and hip-hop, all of which filter into his eerie and evocative approach to electronic music.
