Mr Eazi: Influences

Mr Eazi's favoured mix of sweetly laidback Nigerian rhythms and the stuttering, guitar-led propulsion of Ghanaian highlife also weaves in elements of dancehall, slick R&B and vintage reggae. In a mix enriched by the early music of pioneers Fela Kuti and Bob Marley, Afrobeats luminaries Burna Boy and Eazi collaborator Juls get a nod, while Ghanaian hiplife star Guru lends relentless beats and Wizkid turns up with a shot of brightly syncopated R&B.
