Moore Kismet Essentials

Nonbinary, pansexual, and prodigiously talented, Los Angeles’ Moore Kismet is a self-described “unicorn,” and with good reason. They released their 2018 single “Void” at just 13. Their dubstep roots led to deeper, moodier bass music on 2020’s “Drift” and “Adore,” slow-motion house on that same year’s “You Should Run,” and something like ambient trap on 2021’s “Vendetta For Cupid.” While their style is evolving too quickly to be pinned down, its hallmarks are broken rhythms, blown-out low-end, and velvety synths—all of which come together in strikingly different ways on 2021’s “Rumor” and 2022’s “Parallel Heartbreak.”
