Formerly a nurse, Miriam Yeung entered the entertainment industry with Cantopop king Eason Chan, who took part in the same New Talent Singing Awards in 1995. Yeung became a hit with audiences in the region only in the early ‘00s after she became known as one of Hong Kong's funniest actresses. Her music, however, tends to be more melancholic. Yeung, who frequently collaborates with lyricist Wyman Wong, has released a number of chart-topping Cantopop hits, like “Maiden's Prayer”, “It's a Pity I Am Aquarius” and “Small City, Big Matter”.
