Merzbow: Deep Cuts

Uncompromising and caustic as Merzbow's discography can be, he uses his noise to devastating effect in his numerous collaborations. He adds menace to Genesis P-Orridge's spoken-word “Kreeme Horn” and turns the Melvins' already sludgy “SNOW REM REM IBVZ” into a deafening paste. But in remixing Neneh Cherry's “Sudden Moment,” he instead plays with the swinging rhythm and fiery squall of the horns.
