Memphis Bleek Essentials

Memphis Bleek was JAY Z's day one protégé from Marcy Projects when Jigga began building the legendary Roc-A-Fella Records roster in the mid-'90s. Bleek's Brooklyn bark and excitable flow made him the yin to his mentor's cool, collected yang on club rockers like the Talking Heads-sampling “It's Alright” and the ladies' anthem “Do My…” His irrepressible energy and chemistry with Roc producer Just Blaze resulted in the brass blast of “Everything's a Go,” the seesawing strings of “You, Me, Him and Her,” and the slow-cruising, Southern-flavoured “Round Here” with T.I. and Trick Daddy.
