Louise Forestier Essentials

Louise Forestier's eponymous 1968 album collaboration with fellow Québécois eccentric Robert Charlebois was one of the most wonderfully wiggy LPs of the psychedelic era. But with her frenzied 1973 take on the franco-folk standard “La prison de Londres,” Forestier established herself as one of Quebec's premier singer/songwriters, exhibiting a mastery of intimate, finger-plucked storytelling and bracing piano balladry that she continued to wield well into the 21st century.
