Los Lobos Essentials

East Los Angeles Chicano rockers Los Lobos first formed in 1973, melding their love of blues, country, folk, R&B, and traditional Spanish and Mexican music. The band achieved mainstream success with their major-label debut, 1984's How Will The Wolf Survive?, and became chart-topping stars with the soundtrack to the 1987 Ritchie Valens biopic La Bamba. Through the '90s and beyond, Los Lobos have expanded their sound to reveal a more experimental side on albums like 1992's Kiko, as well as an appreciation for power pop and punk.
