Lindsay Ell Essentials

Lindsay Ell, born in 1989 in Calgary, AB, got her start in music early, beginning piano at age six and taking on guitar two years later. As a teenager, she was discovered by The Guess Who’s Randy Bachman, who collaborated with her on 2006’s Consider This. A few years later, Ell relocated to Nashville, where she worked as a songwriter and eventually signed with Stoney Creek Records. Her 2013 single “Trippin’ On Us” established her as a talent on the rise, and in 2014 she made her Grand Ole Opry debut. Ell’s debut album, The Project, which showcased her songwriting and guitar playing, came out in 2017, followed by The Continuum Project, her reinterpretation of John Mayer’s Continuum. Her 2020 concept album, heart theory, probed the seven stages of grief, and in 2023 she announced her “glow-up era” with the single “Sweet Spot.”
