Laura Sauvage: Influences

Laura Sauvage paints her searing indie rock with soft streaks of French mystique and hushed vulnerability. It all comes from a colourful palette of vintage sounds, like the menacing psychedelic themes of jazz guitarist Pierre Cavalli and the jazzy art punk of Television. But at her rawest—and most sardonic—she finds inspiration from contemporary muses, like the scrappy garage rock of Parquet Courts and Angel Olsen's woozy, wailing laments.
