Before Alejandro "El Potrillo" Fernández took off his flashy Mexican-horseman outfit and became a pop star, the man with the graceful and flexible tenor sang traditional ranchera music like his famous father, Vicente, with a slightly warmer tone. Acoustic guitars and swelling strings accompany the achingly melodramatic love songs the singer known as The Colt began recording in 1992.
