The fledgling career of musical theatre and soundtrack composer Joseph Trapanese burst wide open in 2011 when he collaborated with Daft Punk on the soundtrack for the Disney film TRON: Legacy, establishing his ease in melding electronic music with symphonic orchestrations. He’s gone on to work with other pop artists, bringing a cinematic sweep to music by Dr. Dre and M83 among others, while moving easily between the worlds of traditional orchestra scores and EDM on the soundtracks for the film 8-Bit Christmas and a Need for Speed video game.
