Andalusian songwriter Joaquín Sabina spread his artistic wings in the 1980s, transforming himself into Spanish pop royalty. Penning sophisticated love letters to Madrid while bulking up his stage show with the razor-sharp band Viceversa, Sabina embellished his increasingly cinematic rock soundscapes with motifs borrowed from Baroque Spanish poetry and the cosmopolitan phrasing of Leonard Cohen.
