Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Liz Harris has an almost hallucinatory stillness to her music. Abstract and yet deeply personal, her songs largely consist of fragmentary vocals over guitar and piano melodies spun into reverb-drenched, translucent filigrees. After a series of low-profile releases, 2008's Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill was her breakthrough to an adoring cult following. Harris has also recorded in collaboration with Xiu Xiu and in the duo projects Mirroring and Slow Walkers.
