There's a reason why the archetypal indie kid look usually features a baggy, shapeless sweater (or "jumper," as your Anglophile friends call them): cool autumnal weather is the perfect time for dark, melancholy indie tunes. Mixing all-time classics like The Smiths and The Sundays with newer acts like Popstrangers and Doves, it's the cool response to the annual pumpkin-spice onslaught.
