Front Line Records: Reggae On Virgin

Apple Music

Iconic record company Virgin launched the Front Line imprint for reggae releases in 1978, neatly coinciding with a huge resurgence of interest in the genre thanks to its popularity with the U.K. punk scene. Front Line brought the heavy roots of Culture and The Abyssinians, the DJ chatter of Big Youth and Prince Far I, and the dub poetry of Linton Kwesi Johnson to a much wider audience.
