Despite Schubert’s death at age 31, his devotion to composition resulted in more than 600 songs, 22 piano sonatas, eight symphonies, 35 chamber works, numerous piano pieces, six masses, and 16 operas. There’s plenty within that oeuvre to surprise even the biggest Schubert fans out there.
