Though reggae is largely considered a male-dominated music form, a number of female artists have enjoyed success and acclaim throughout its history. This list traces the history of women in reggae, from ‘60s bluebeat artist Millie Small to Rita Marley and Marcia Griffiths in the ‘70s. The ‘80s are represented by Sister Nancy, while Lady Saw holds it down today.
