Felipe Peláez, a star of popular Colombian folk music known as vallenato, cut his first record as a guitarist at the age of just 16. Wider acclaim soon followed as a solo artist with his '99 debut album Deseos, and his collaboration with Gilberto Santa Rosa won him a Latin GRAMMY® Award. As well as vallenato, in which he uses the tropical sounds of caja drums, accordions and guacharaca percussion, Peláez playfully explores salsa, merengue and rock on his folk-pop songs. Prolific and charismatic, he brings heartfelt stories of love and friendship to life.
