Hailing from Victorville, California, Face to Face formed in 1991 as a straightforward three-chord punk band. However, they soon developed what became the early stages of pop-punk, combining punk's aggression with infectious hooks and melodies alongside acts like The Offspring, Green Day, and Guttermouth. After the release of their debut LP Don't Turn Away in 1992 on indie label Dr. Strange Records, the band garnered radio play from KROQ in L.A. Within two years, they signed to the major label A&M Records and became a mainstay of the mainstream punk scene.
