Ennio Morricone: My Proudest Moments

Ennio Morricone: "It is difficult for a composer to pick his own favourite tracks. In each of my compositions, I have always tried to give my best, pushing my own limits, trying to overcome them. Some of these tracks are well-known to audiences, some are less, because for some reason those films, even though well-deserving, were not lucky at the box office: The Red Tent, L'eredità Ferramonti and Novecento are among those. There are many others, so I had to select a few. Always, in all my work, I have tried not only to serve the film but also to protect the dignity of the music itself, making it independent from the film that it was created for. I hope that the audience will appreciate it."
