Elektra Records: Alternative

Elektra Records became the hippest rock label around in the late '60s and '70s. They kept that reputation going in the alternative era by signing some of the coolest and brainiest acts around, from The Cure at their stadium-filling heights through Pixies' manic energy and They Might Be Giants' geeky cool to Stereolab's inviting blend of political theory and vintage synthesizers.
