Dumas: Influences
Apple Music
Steve Dumas' dreamy, atmospheric francophone pop is indebted to purveyors of lush tunes from college rock, electronic music, and ‘80s New Wave. Echo & The Bunnymen's brooding “The Killing Moon” may have been a source for Dumas' dramatic vocal stylings, whereas his cinematic melancholy is akin to The National's piano-led “Nobody Else Will Be There.” He has a dancey, rock ‘n' roll side, too, that recalls the flashiness of Bowie's “DJ.”
