Down With Webster Essentials

Toronto-based Down With Webster want to crash your party and steal your girlfriend, but rest assured: they'll gladly supply you with the beats. Although they are often referred to as rap-rock, their musical approach is unapologetically poppy, fusing slick electronic sounds that evoke bands like 3OH!3 with fast rapping and big, hooky choruses. They were tailor-made for MuchMusic, where most of their videos played on heavy rotation since the release of their debut, Time to Win, Vol. 1, in 2009. Some of their lighter tracks bring to mind Canadian one-hit wonders Len (remember "Steal My Sunshine"?)—and that's not necessarily a bad thing. DWW are not here to reinvent the wheel—they just want to have fun and bring you along for the ride.
