These deep cuts expand their sound but still rail with savage energy, offering glitchy alt-metal darkness (“Violence Fetish”), classic thrash-inspired ragers (“Immortalized”), and heavy, hypnotic nu-metal (“Devour”). Swaths of distortion, pounded drums, and frontman David Draiman's gritty, powerful vocals combine to create menacing atmospheres. The warped metal of “Droppin' Plates” satisfies the need for gut-punching, low-end overdrive as it charges along with the abandon of a runaway train.
