David Bowie: The Musicians Behind Blackstar

The genesis of Blackstar begins with the first track of this playlist: Bowie's 2014 version of “Sue (Or in a Season of Crime)” backed by the Maria Schneider Orchestra. When it came time for Bowie to enter the studio for Blackstar, Donny McCaslin, a saxophonist in Maria's band, and a group containing Jason Lindner (keys), Mark Guiliana (drums), Ben Monder (guitar) and Tim Lefebve (bass) formed the musical core.
