Dan Fogelberg: Deep Cuts

Dan Fogelberg was a lover of songcraft who packed every tune with ear-grabbing detail. Synth lines dance melodically underneath his feathery voice on the folk rocker “Promises Made”, and the bluegrass-seasoned “Go Down Easy” has an earthy Dobro subtly woven in. But the most audacious example is 1978's “Tell Me to My Face”, in which the singer/songwriter works a Latin beat into soft jazz-rock vibes.
