Bruno Rigutto Essentials

French pianist and conductor Bruno Rigutto, a disciple of composer and fellow pianist Samson François, has built a career toggling between performance and education. He has also written music on occasion, such as the score for Nina Companéez’s feature film Faustine et le Bel Été in 1972. Since 1981 Rigutto has been a professor at the Conservatoire de Paris, but he’s recorded and performed with prolificacy over the decades, displaying an affinity for the music of Frédéric Chopin—both orchestral and solo—including a dazzling recital of the composer’s complete Nocturnes in 2019, interpreted with erudite grace and delicacy.
