Best of Windham Hill Records

The Windham Hill label became synonymous with New Age, though its catalogue also includes folk and jazz. The label's cofounder, guitarist William Ackerman, was behind its first release in 1976, and one of its flagship artists, pianist George Winston, debuted in 1980. The nature-oriented album covers also became a trademark, and it maintained a devoted audience until its purchase by BMG in the '90s.
